Blessing St Paul’s garden plaque
The following blessing was used on Sunday 17th March 2013 to bless St Paul’s garden plaque in memory of John Suddards.
Blessed are you, O Lord, God of mercy and Giver of all good gifts.In Jesus your Son who gave his life for usyou have given us a sign of godly loveand have called us to follow the great commandmentthat we love one another with the same lovewith which he first loved us.
Hear us as we remember your servant John Suddards in this place; one who loved you and loved your people and who was poured out in your service.
In this garden planted in his memory, we place this memorial plaque.
Send your blessing upon this garden and this plaqueas we remember John’s self sacrifice and our great loss.
Comfort his family and his friends;
give us all the faith, hope and strength to act as he did, in compassion, with open handed generosity, and in faithful service of all your little ones.
Let this garden be a place of peace and quiet reflection. Let it be a refuge and an oasis among busy lives. Let it be a place of encounter with you, the living God.
We ask your grace and blessing on this memorial, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
