The Parochial Church Council (PCC)

The main purpose of the PCC is 'to co-operate with the minister in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical'. The PCC meets nine or ten times in the year, in addition to occasional special meetings. There are typically 22 members, coming from a wide cross-section of the church community. Much of the administration and leadership of the church takes place in smaller groups and committees, with the PCC serving a co-coordinating role, carrying the financial and legal responsibilities for the Parish.

Vicar and Curate 2 Ex-officio

Churchwardens 3 Ex-officio (3 max)

Deanery Synod Representatives 3 Ex-officio (4 max)

Lay Reader Representative 1 Nominated by Readers

Elected Members 15 Elected by APCM (15 max)

(Elected members serve for three years with one third retiring each year. The Secretary and Treasurer are normally drawn from the elected members but can be co-opted)
